ASAP Help Plz...

Got an Asus M4A785-M for my pops old compaq presario. AMD Phenom II X2 550 black edition and a 600W Cooler Master PSU, nice and heavy. Power is running through the mobo (ind. light is on), but when I press the power button, nothing. Power plugs in the right places, power switch in the right place...i cant figure this out. Much appreciated help

Intergrated. no beeps, nada

Edit I have literally plugged in everything. If I plugged anything else in it would be illegal in some states. No beeps, no sound, no fans running, but the light says power is getting to the mobo. Could it just be a faulty mobo? Could it also be the power button

It could be the power button. You sure you've hooked up the right jumper?

does your motherboard have an onboard power button?

No, not so far as I know. If it does, it isn't in the mobo layout on the manual.

If not, try jumping the pins with something instead of using the power button. Coins work well.

If that doesn't work, unplug one of the RAM sticks. If it's still nothing, swap them out.

Definitely pull the CMOS battery.
