Applying Thermal Compound

Hello:

Which is the best method to apply thermal compound on an Intel core i7 920?

The rice, line, spreading method, etc?

I presume the cores are in the same position as the C2Qs, but MX-2 spreads easily, so a very small (and I mean small) BB-sized blob in the centre of the IHS would be fine.

That's if you have flat based cooler. If your cooler has the heatpipes in direct contact with the CPU's IHS, then you'll need to apply three small lines to the heatpipes, like in this article.

I'm using a HDT cooler and just put a single line down the middle pipe. =x
