Apple users: Please help out

I have a pc and i am really happy with it, BUT the problem is that in my field of (visual arts) the mac is an industry standard. This doesnt necessarily mean i have to get a high end apple at home, BUT which one should i get then,

i like the mac mini its configuration is about the same as the emac and the imac, but its very cheap in comparison. So would apple users recommend me using a mac mini to basically learn mac?

well u should know alot of normal programs wont work with them that u normally use. Ipods work nicely with them, see if u can find a cheap old g3 to learn off of. if u cant use a G5 mac mini is perfect to learn on, because they're small so u can put them almost anywhere too, which means u can learn almost anywhere
