Default anyone know any good software for file recovery?

one of my hardrives has gone down. theres still some life in it but not much. it has 233Gb of stuff that i want of it so i was wondering if there is any software out there that can help me to retrieve it. i have no worries in forking out abit of cash for the software

I asked a similar question and someone recommended O&O. They do seem to have an assortment of programs that might be of help...
