Any way to just show icons in the taskbar?

I want to clean my task bar up when there's many apps open. Is there any way to just show icons? I know you can 'group' the similar apps together down there, but i have several seperate applications open. Is this possible? Some sort of hack or something?

maybe u could minimize some of them to the system tray?

yeah, if some of your programs have tray icons then you can go to the options in that program and select "remove taskbar icon when minimized" option. When you minimize the program it will disappear from the taskbar and just be in the system tray. or if that isn't an option, you can always auto-hide the taskbar so you don't have to see it all the time.....lol

win amp dose that .. but the best thing to do is to move it, either the left or right and put it on auto-hide .. i do that
