Default any upgrades i can do?

i dont know jack about hardware compatibility, so can anyone tell me if my laptop is upgradeable?

it's a dell inspirion m5030
amd athlon ii p360 dual core, 2300mhz

lemme know what else info to post :P

you can upgarde the harddrive, it prob has a 5400rpm and you could get a 7200prm but not much point if there is nothing wrong with the drive, or you can get an SSD drive.

You can probably upgrade the ram too. install and run this on the laptop

yeah nothing's wrong with the drive. thanks for the link though, it recommended upgrading my ram for $100, which I just might do.

For price wise is that the best place to purchase from? Or do you figure I can save a decent amount and shop around?

3gb atm, i think that system scanner recommended me to buy 2 4gb.

yeah search around for the size and speed it recommends you should be able to get it pretty cheap. is it ddr2 or ddr3

6 gig memory is the max. Also you're limited to 500 gig hard drive.

Not really much you can upgrade. Also if you're using a 32 bit OS it really see about 3.25-3.50 gig of memory. 4 gig would be the max there.

WRONG, It supports up to 8GB DDR3 Computer memory upgrades for Dell Inspiron M5030 Laptop/Notebook from Crucial.com, I'd max the ram out by getting 8GB 2x4GB sticks will do the trick.
