which antivirus software is the best

can anyone recomend the best and most reliable anti virus software?

Norton Antivirus. Been using it all my life and never had one problem with it. It gave me a number of warnings too (virus alert-so I know it's working) so thank goodness for that. Some people have a hard time with that software which I don't know why. Make sure during the installation process, close out all programs, disable and remove all exisitng antivirus programs before attempting to install Norton. Everything should be smooth as a baby's butt.

My work uses Panda Titanium which does an ok job, but it's a piece of crap when compared to Norton. They've gone cheap because they whine about not being able to afford licensing.

Agreed. I have had no problems with Norton, none, what so ever.

norton is great, but another really good one is sonicwall by mcafee its a virus scan plus anti-spyware

Personally, I am using NOD32 and ZoneAlarm Pro. It is great.

It's free.
It's awesome.
It's better than any other AV I have ever used.

I have had so many problems with norton. Too many. I don't know why, there are lot's of ppl (like some of the posters above) who have used it very long and havent had any problems.
