You'd think so...

But, I've seen programs running along side before.
Norton was before that ran out, along side AVG.

McAfee gives (gave) me nothing but issues when I had it installed on some workstations.

Yeah, I have heard alot of issues with that program.

As for why I'd want them to run along side:

Well, I wouldn't want to remove AVG without knowing first that Avast can (for myself, not from other reviews) work better than AVG. If it doesn't, I know I don't need it, so can get rid.

Oh, okay, I understand now. Why not just disable AVG for a second to test Avast and then enable AVG again if you find it better.
