hey guys

i use my laptop with the another monitor, so i have dual monitors...

but i have a machine that is under my desk that i seldom hook up to my monitor to use.

but when i plug my computer up to the monitor it turns on, but the monitor stays idle.

the video card is a radeon 9800 pro, and the fan on the card comes on.

any suggestions?

try using the laptop to set the monitor a different lower resolution then try again should probsbly work

Make sure the graphics card is plugged in properly.

Also make sure you have a CPU, Memory, etc, connected to the motherboard. If it's an old mobo then reset the BIOS and try again.

how do i reset the bios without anythign being on the screen?

why not try right clicking on your desktop to enable other montier outputs.

Re-Setting the BIOS usuaslly involves removing the battery from the motherboard or using a jumper on the CLRTC pins.
