How much you are getting that RAM for? I can tell you right now PROMOS chips are crap. You want Micron D9's or Elpida chips.

Lemme ask you a question, are you going to overclock at all?

I will tell you right now, PROMOS chips won't clock that nicely. D9's are what you want. But let me warn you, they don't come cheap in 2GB flavors anymore. You used to be able to get them for 230 for 2GB, now they are 300 bucks. D9's are you best bet for overclocking chips. 1Ghz @ 4-4-4-8 timings w/ 2.2V. Its extremely nice.

the product name from each company is different. But the chips they use are called either D9GMH or D9GKX. I'll give you a list of the RAM modules. But the Team Group and the Crucial's are going to be the cheapest.
Crucial Ballistix:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146563
These will sometimes go onsale for 285, so i suggest you wait a little.
G.Skill 6400HZ's.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231065
Corsair 8500C5D (I'm pretty sure these are D9) As again, corsair is extreme pricey.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145043
Mushkin 8500's (again, pretty sure D9, but pricey as hell also)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146677
Team Group 6400's
http://www.tankguys.biz/ddr2-44410-8...4be507a26af7bd
With the Team Group memory, the DDR2-1000 DDR2-6400 (3-4-3-8) all use D9GMH so they are 100% guranteed D9.
http://www.tankguys.biz/ddr2-3338-p-...4be507a26af7bd

As you can see from this list, D9's are still roughly around the $300 dollar range. But they are the best overclocking chips you can get. Some have been known to reach 1.3Ghz with a nice (2.7V) flow of voltage.
