Also, do you think a GTS 250 from Nvidia would work?

It would work, but a 5770 is much better value. I own both of them by the way.

As GibsonSGKing said, it will do the job with the games you listed. It's pretty much an updated 9800GTX+. We have one in my wife's machine and it runs just fine. If you're up against your budget, it's a good choice. The HD 5770 is a better deal though. It supports DX11 and will do a very nice job running some of the more high powered games.

Wait a second Atomic, I don't see a case or a heatsink in that build...? I'm not too good with computers, so I'm not too sure.

the 965 comes with a stock fan for the cpu so you don't need to buy another one unless you were going to overclock which you stated you're not going to. You can find a case the will keep you under budget I suppose.

would keep you under budget and has good reviews though I have no personal experience with the case.
