Default Annoying Puzzle

i have another thread on this and while it has garnered ideas none have helped. i realized though that this is quite a puzzle and if there is anyone out the like me they would like to try their hand at the challenge so here is my problem:

i'm trying to format my hard drive on my laptop to switch to Ubuntu
my XP home is on the hard drive i'm trying to reformat so i cannot format while i run windows
my computer refuses to boot from a cd-rom
i have no floppy drive
and my BIOS gives no option for booting from USB

can you solve the mystery???

hmmmm...maybe i should come up with a prize.....

Booting from LAN, perhaps? I know my motherboard supports that, but I have no idea how that works.

I wonder if you can get external floppy drives that hook in through the LAN port... Nah!

Well... you might want to check it out! Search around on Google or something, I'm sure there's some information about it.
