§f? §[?long day at my uncles house, we found his very, very...very old computer. It's a Canon Innova Media, or something like that. When i started it up, it says the following:

"486DX2 Bios V1.2R1.9
66MHz DX2 CPU !
007808 KB Memory Good
000096 KB Shadow RAM

1 Diskette Drive(s)
1 Parallel Port(s)
1 Serial Port(s)

Pointing Device Installed
80x87 (SX) Comprocessor Installed
Display Card Mismatch
Diskette Drive Type Mismatch
Equipment Configuration Error
Memory Size Mismatch
Real Time Clock Error

Memory Cache On
RAM BIOS Enable
Video RAM BIOS

Press F1 Key to continue or Ctrl_alt_esc to enter setup."

After i press F1, it tells me:

"Insert System Diskette and press <enter> key to reboot"
I have no disk

OK! Now, this is mostly a foreign language to me, I have no idea whats going wrong with this antique, but it would be nice if I could get it to work, thats why I turned to you guys.

Here are the specs on the box:
Canon Innova Media Mini Tower
Model MT 4610

486 DX2/66MHz CPU
Pentium Overdrive socket
8k internal cache
8mb std./36mb max RAM
420MB HDD/3.5" FDD
VESA Local Bus video
32-bit graphics accelerator
1MB std./2MB Max video RAM
Dual Speed CD-ROM drive
16-bit sound card and speakers
14.4 fax/voice modem
keyboard, mouse and mouse pad.

"Complete with popular software":

System software:

MS-DOS v6.22
Windows v3.11
Claris Works v3.0
FaxWorks v3.0
Compuserve
Monologue v1.5
Sidekick v1.0

OK, thats pretty much everything.

Does anyone know what the hell is going on with this thing? I really want to get it to work, it's asking me to insert a system diskette but i don't have one. Is there any way I can get one or make one??
Thanks so much

i dont care, i need help with this computer. lmao. and for some odd reason, it doesnt have a CD rom drive, it's taken out  I guess my uncle needed an extra CDROM drive... anyway,
I downloaded an MS-Dos v6.22 boot disk, and i pressed F1, and it says it's missing a device driver or something. here is exactly what it says:

"CD-ROM Device Driver For IDE (Four Channels Supported)
(C) Copyright Oak Technology Inc. 1993-1996
Driver Version : V340
Device Name : Banana
No Drives found, aborting installation

Device driver not found: 'BANANA'.
No valid CDROM device drivers selected
A:\>_"

Does anyone know what's going on? the bootdisk i downloaded is from here:

http://www.allbootdisks.com/index.p...d=42&func=fileinfo&parent=folder&filecatid=20

agh, i don't have a CD rom drive...I wont screw it up if i take it out of my current computer for a second, will i?

earlier versions of what? ms-dos? could you recommend one?

when i press ctrl alt esc to go into bios, it asks me for either system configuration, or security. i select system configuration, and it asks for basic system configuration, and advanced system configuration

...maybe i'll take a picture

does anyone know what to do? any suggestions?

When you boot it up, does it say somewhere what version of DOS? I would use the very first one in the list on that site:

DOS 5.0 | Mirror1 | 2
DOS 6.0 | Mirror1 | 2
DOS 6.21 | Mirror1 | 2
DOS 6.22 | Mirror1 | 2
