hehe, windows didnt even start then. It has only been around for 20 years. But quad cores wont be too expensive. In 2007, they might have a 40nm process and that would drive down costs even more because more cores per wafer.

Ya know they go up to 8, right?

http://tyan.com/products/html/vx50b4881.html

The quad cores will be able to support 32 but I don't know how the hell you are going to fit that in a case, unless you had a riser card, but then you'd have to have 7 cpu expansion cards,

http://www.polywell.com/us/rackservers/poly8800us.asp

and that would be insane because most of them support 64gb per board. And since this is going to be in the future, I think they are going to fully utilize the 8gb memory chip which would cap the total at around 1 terrabyte of memory.

Wikipedia is your friend.

PS/2 is for keyboards or mouse.

Edit>>> Are you talking about PCI-Express? Or PCI-X?

Here's the Wiki for PCI-X.

I thought you couldn't add the cpu speeds together....or is that just for dual cores. And do you have to keep the spus in paris of 2's. Could you have 5 or can you only have 4 or 6. That is my question.

you need pairs if you are going dual core. But you cant add cpu speeds together. You can say i have 2 3Ghz processors. But you cant say i have a 6Ghz computer.

Yeah, the clock speeds don't really "add" up, they just help each other when processing something, or they can do different things faster simultaneously.

its not the same thing. Its basically saying that you have 2 3.0Ghz processors, but you cant execute a program at 6.0Ghz. But you can run 2 programs at the same time at 3.0Ghz each.
