Default Amd Xp Build

ok well my brothers computer blows man socks. anyhoo the specs are

-AMD ATHLON XP 2400+
-512mb PC-2100
-9800 PRO AIW
-SB LIVE! 5.1
-DVD-ROM
-CD-RW
-40gb HD
-floppy
-300w PSU
-some kinda cheap ass Compaq mobo that doesnt allow O/Cing to be done because its welfare
-and stock mini ATX case.

anyway im wondering if its even possible to turn this into something that will play CSS half descently well. these are what im thinking for it.

-Better HSF
-PC2700 ram (512mb)
-MSI KT880 Delta-FSR (AGP 8X,5 PCI,8USB,6CH_Audio,Gb LAN,RAID,SATA,ATA133) which should allow OCing.
-ATX case to go with it.

im planning on the MOBO and case for tonight or tomorrow. do you think the new mobo would speed it up? with a 9200 256mb gold edition it only scored 1118 on 3dmark03. im trying to get him near 7k

Definately, I have a friend who plays CSS on a system pretty much identical to that same card, 512 RAM (2700), the one difference is that he has a motherboard that's let him overclock his XP quite a bit, so yeah a motherboard that allows oc'ing is the way to go, just don't melt any systems :P
