im currntly running a k9n4 motherboard with a AMD Sempron 3400+ at 1.8Ghz.2 1gb sticks of Ram, a Lg sata Dvd Burner , 1tb sata hard drive , Windows 7 home premuim 64-bit.i want to upgrade my cpu anyy1 out there that has an opion or information about witch would be the best cpu to upgrade to. i want one about 2.8 Ghz or 3.0ghz or around there but would like to try to spend under $150.a name or model number would be good so i could shop around ebay etc. thank you very much in advance.

You're going to need to be more specific. Google brings up multiple results for K9N4 motherboards. Also, what kind of RAM.
Are you looking to only upgrade the CPU, or the MB and CPU? |

that is my motherboard ^^ the k9n4 ultra motherboard socket AM2 im only looking to upgrade the cpu. the ram is ddr 2 733mhz i think |

Any of these will do,up to you how much you want to spend and how fast you want it.
Though personally i'd go for the AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ 2.8GHz - For $49.99 Free Shipping,you cant go wrong!

I'd go for an Athlon X2.
Athlon X2 5600+ (2.8Ghz) 2MB Cache or the Athlon X2 6000+ (3.0Ghz) 2MB Cache. Both use Windsor cores. Ensure you get the 2MB cache, as above. |

thanks very much guys. i just firgured that the 1.8ghz isnt giving me all the power i want . ill have a look on ebay and computer stores around newcastle for those .
and Neodude, where was the $50 2.8 ghz on? ebay or etc oh and another thing.remiz the Athlon X2 6000+ (3.0Ghz) 2MB Cache you mentione they are dual core . does my mother board support dual core? |
