Amd athlon xp 3000+ wait or was it.. 1700

k well that's weird.... i just restarted my computer and it jumped back to saying it's an athlon 1700 again with 1.3 ghz..... anyone know what's going on:S? and yes it is a barton

sounds like the comp got the fsb (front side bus) wrong, go into the bios and change it so that it goes back to its regular speeds

k well i put it at 166 with my 1gig and it then doesn't turn on the comp so i gotta stick in my 512 and then it boots up just fine... i called the place and they said it may be my motherboard that won't allow me to boost it up more.... i'm lost:S

Amd athlon XP
1.74ghz

then with my 512
fbs 166
amd athlon xp 3000
2.6ghz

so what exactly do i do.... my comp won't boot up the 1 gig at 166

i put my fsb to 200 but now my comp wont start with my 512 stick or my 1 gig stick, and i have a gigabyte motherboard dont know exactly what model (cant spec it if comp wont start), can someone help me?
