Question AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (3.0GHz) OR Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz

I was just wandering which one would give better performance for gaming?

I would think the AMD because of its faster clock speed but i may be wrong.

Clock speeds don't mean much when comparing AMD and Intel.
In this case, the Intel core 2 quad is the superior performer. By a long shot.

although the higher clock speed of the 6000 will help when it comes to non muti core tasks i still think the Q6600 will be the better processor to have, besides the Q6600 can easily get to the 6000 speed without mcuh temp difference

Q6600. First off, the 600+ is dual, and the Q6600 is quad. Sure, AMD has a better performance over price, but in fact, that CPU will smoke it out instant.

The 6000+ X2 is still a very nice cpu but the q6600 is even better.

I have mine at 3.3 ATM, some people get as high as 3.6, but there is also a black edition of the 6000+ X2
