Suggest once a week runnning CHKDSK /R from the recovery console. If you don't have the recovery console on the boot go to start-help and support and search for recovery console. It will tell you how to install it.
Note space between K and /.
This may save you a problem in the future as it isolates any bad sectors and repairs the HDD.

Remember how to move the i386 folder to the c: drive and the reg edit to make it work? I bet you could save a boat load of trouble for our members with that one.
