(Yes I want Dual Dual core CPUS :p )

Hmmm...Go with the second setup if you have the cash. Although, if you want hardcore processing, but not gaming, get the Opteron X2. You can overclock those things to high heaven. :)

the operton setup is outstanding if your a software developer or game developer or if ur making a server, not great for gaming. The asus sli-deluxe motherboard is twice as good as any other sli or crossfire board out there. I hope u understand that most mobos in sli or cross fire divide the pci-ex bandwidth of 16x to 8x per card so each card is doing have thevideo processing. The asus sli-deluxe mobo does not do this and llows each each to function at 16x each, theoretically combining for 32x. Making for insaen vide oprocessing. The 7800gtx's have been proven faster than the 512mb ati cards on todays lastest games, but ive heard that alot of the ati's 1800xts software is ultilized by games in the somewhat near future more effectively, and hopefully enough so it outshines the 256mb 7800gtx,since currently it does not.

I don't understand why your are willing to dish out 1100 for 2 1800xt's and not get the top model of the 7800gtx, becasue two 512 7800gtx is cheaper than getting two 1800xts. And you are getting the 7800gtx 256mb. Just a thought, because the 7800grx 512mb version owns.

Note: when viewing benchmarks ensure u notice that the cards tested are only in crossfire or sli if it says it in the name.

the 7800 seems to own in b&w and battlefield, but the ati owns at day of defeat. Your choice.
