I have a ASUS A7 V-600X running a 3000+ XP processor and I have a 9800XT gfx card (clearly an 8x AGP card with a mobo which supports 8x AGP, no?), I have the latest catalyst drivers with the catalyst control centre. Surely I want the gfx card to be running at the highest speed AGP transfer available? i.e. 8x... but when I set it to 8x AGP it asks me to restart the PC so it can test safety, but when it comes back to Windows (XP Pro) and I re-open the control centre it says it's set it back to 0x AGP :S??? 1. Is this important? 2. Should I remedy it? 3. How do I fix it?
