Hi,

I'm a newbie and have a question about AGP x's.

I'm looking to get a new shell as i have an old graphics card. Will be upgrading that later on (when i have money!!!).

Does an old GCard work on new mboard's with 4x/8x capatible AGP's?

Thanks

First off "new shell" do you mean motherboard ?
You didn't describe your present card so i'll asume it a PCI.
The answer is yes if you get the right motherbord with AGP or PCI slots.

:D

Thanks. I'm actually upgrading my old P3 733Mhz and was going to get a new MB/CPU etc. but don't have the money as yet to upgrade my GPU. My current Graphics card is AGP but i was worried that with new MB only capatible with 4x/8x AGP cards, it might not work.

My Gcard is a crappy MX440.

Thanks....

a agp 1/2/4x will work much the same in a mobo that supports agp8x.

or so i imagine.

my vid card from 1999 worked in a 2004 mobo fine ":)
