Istonian got it right. There are too many driver issues associated with x64 XP and there too few compatible programs to make it worthwhile.

I believe that the 64 bit Vista is the more desirable version of the two.

^^^^YES!!!! Aboslutely correct!!! I would love a 64 bit OS because of the performance, but compatibility becomes an issue. I should say that most driver issues are cleared up, but there are still some that have to be worked out with the manufacturers.
