Default advice on wireless adapter

I need a wireless adapter for a new desktop and I'm a bit bewildered by the variety out there. I'm running Windows 7. Does PCI have any advantages over USB in terms of range, speed, reliability, etc? And whichever way I go, which brands and models are the best?

I like d-link pci cards better then usb. I have had a lot of problems with usb wifi cards. They have not lasted long on any of my computers or my families.

Something like one of these will work well:

LINKSYS WMP54G

D-Link WDA-1320

I've always used PCI adapters and never have had any problems. We do have a D-Link USB adapter here, but I have never messed around with it.

I have a Linksys Wireless-G PCI Adapter that I used for about 2 months and loved it. Linksys has great support and it was fast. I was also running Win7 at that point in time. I think PCI is a more stable attack at wifi with a desktop.

Heres the link: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...082&CatId=2688

EDIT: I was just looking and I also used this one http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...268&CatId=2688 It gave me some problems but was decent.

The D-Link that Atomic suggested isn't bad that is the one that I have. Easy to install and have not had a problem with it. I also installed it at my brothers house, which has a lot of steel beams and is very close to other houses and it connects better than the usb one he had before.

Thanks Atomic, I think I'll go with the D-Link adapter you mentioned. But before I buy it, should I go with the WDA-2320 instead of the 1320? They're going for the same price and the 2320 has a higher speed rating (108 vs. 54 Mbps). Also, which has the longer range, as my computer is a few rooms away from the router.

By all means, get the D-Link WDA-2320. It's faster and cheaper. They should have about the same range.
