Default Advice on my $500 PC build?

New to the forum — seems like a great place for helpful info!

Antec Three Hundred case $53.79 after PM

Corsair CMPSU-400CX 400CX 400W ATX 12V 30A Power Supply - $39.99 after MIR

Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H AMD785G mATX AM3 PCI-E DDR3 Video Sound GLAN CrossFireX HDMI Motherboard - $89.99 after PM

AMD Athlon II X4 620 Quad Core Processor Socket AM3 2.6GHZ - $104.97 after PM

Corsair XMS3 CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 4GB DDR3 2X2GB - $96.47 after PM

Western Digital Caviar SE16 640GB SATA2 7200RPM - $64.13 bundle price

LG GH22NS50 Black 22X SATA DVD Writer OEM - $26.99

Shipping $7.99

TOTAL: $484.32 CDN plus tax

Intended for general use plus lots of DVD ripping and video encoding, maybe a game once in a while.

I'd really appreciate any input on mistakes, weak points, etc.

Onboard graphics I'm not really into games, so I figured I'd spend the budget in other places.

Isn't that the same cpu?

Does the Asus motherboard offer an improvement? It has the same price as the Gigabyte one.

The OCZ ram seems to be slower speed than the Corsair in my post. Am I missing something?

I see the case will save me $8, thanks!

Could you elaborate on some of the above, though? I appreciate the input.
