Default Advantages of Mounting?

I've noticed some posts on mounting CDs onto the hard drive and I was wondering if it gave any advantages besides not having to switch the disks.

Like would it help make games like BF2 run better?

Default Re: Advantages of Mounting?

Access times and transfer rates would be quicker as its accessing it directly from the hard drive instead of the optical drive which has to spin up and maintain speed to access/transfer quickly. If you had a hard drive such as a raptor you would know the difference allot - try it and see what you think.
