Adding a second hard drive question

I have never added an un-formatted hdd to an existing system before.

I figured since I have a rather large chunk of files to transfer to the new build, I might as well install this unused 80gb I have laying around; then just transfer it to the new comp.

I can see it in my hardware profile, but it's not showing under my computer, so I'm not sure how to access it.

Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management. In the left pane, click on Disk Management. Does the drive show in in the right window? If it does, you can format and initialize it there.

Quick question, the the new mobo is sata2, shouldn't have a problem with the sata drive, no?

No, it won't have a problem with an sata drive, it's backwards compatible.
