Default Add DVD to WMP Library

HI:

How do I add DVD contents to the WMP library so that I can burn a copy of it? I thought by playing the DVD, it would automatically add it to the library but not so. And, I can not even drag the contents to a playlist. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hello Jon,

DVD's unfortunately cannot be simply copied, due to copyright issues and a proprietary design. However, you can "rip" video, and convert any video title or selection into a video file suitable for playback and storage on your computer (and copyable to your library).

Most software that does this usually is not free, but I have stumbled upon this title which is apparently free of charge, and may be worth a try: Free DVD Ripper.

Good Luck, Jon!

Hello Adiohead, thank you so much for helping out. I am going to try the program you have suggested and hopefully it will work! I appreciate your help!

Jon.
