I actually use both. F.X. for most everything and then I.E. for whatever else is needed, but the problem is when i try to do an windows update on I.E. it searches for the activex control, but can't find it. I followed the steps given after the error, but still no luck, so I figured I need to reload the activex controls...I just don't know which one(s) I need to find and load.

Open Internet Options and make sure that your Internet security settings are set to 'Medium'. Then refresh the Windows Update page.
