Acer Aspire x3300 crashes with colored band on screen
I have had my Acer Aspire x3300 desktop for about 10 months. It's started to crash every so often, where the sound goes off, the screen goes blank apart from a band of random colors at the top. It doesn't react to Ctrl-Alt-Del or anything else, just pressing and holding the power button till it switches off.
Additionally, on powering up, the power light flashes irregularly as if it tries to turn on, struggles a bit, then dies, then tries again. After about a minute the computer boots up. Both these problems started at the same time so I think they are related.
Anyone had a similar problem or have an idea what it might be?
