Am bumping this thread, Need more replies.
Thanks muz379, but it won't differ between a 256mb gfx and a 512mb,
Thrust me I've got one

go with the gateway, the acer has a pentium D. They're both dual core but AMD has a better dual core system as compared to the Pentium D. also, the pentium D has been succeeded by the core 2 duo so if you want to go intel, go with a core 2 duo otherwise go with an AMD X2 dual core.

I agree, If it was a intel core 2 duo (or even core duo) laptop vs AMD Turion X2, then I would say go with the Intel laptop as it uses less power and is faster then AMD's current offerings, but as it's Pentium D, go with the Gateway laptop!

Oh I don't know why I thought they were laptops! Sorry my mistake.

Probably because Acer decided to confuse everyone and have the same name for their laptop and desktop ranges...

Oh no we have two members going for the Acer and two for the gateway,
Which computer will win, lol

I will like to thank all the members who have spent a little time in leavening a reply :)
