I am running this makeshift compy from a dell dimension 4700.
I have upgraded it a fair bit to : P4 3.0ghz 2 GB DDR2 Geforce 8600gt now the socket type is a 775 LGA, but on the website it says the processors it supports. It only lists single core CPUs. I'm wondering if I put a socket 775 dual core in it, if it will work. It's the same socket. I think the site may have been written before dual core was released. Thanks! EDIT: the motherboard has the 915 intel chipset |

Since the 915G Express chipset was designed for the Pentium 4, you might be able to run a dual core Pentium 4 CPU, but doubt that a Core 2 Duo would work.
