9800gt vs 8800gt

the 8800gt is vista ready, the 9800 doesnt say that it is, thats the only thing that i can see different, save 10 bux and go 8800?

Yes, they are exactly the same.

Some of the 9800GT will be the new 55nm G92b, but it will not perform any better, just consume slightly less power. Most 9800GT's are still 65nm.

TBH, I think the HD 4850 is worth the slight increase on price over those two cards.

I am an Nvidia fanboy, cant go ATI, lol I dont want to spend much either, but I want something that can perform pretty well...
I can max most games on my 7900gs, but most newer games are playable, but barely 25fps or so I would say, so an 8800gt would fix that a bit. Crysis still wouldnt be maxable, but it would be better.

get a 9800gtx if u can save up a little extra coin
200 bucks you cant go wrong
i can max crysis with 30 fps =P
overclocked of course

Oh!! But what really uses openGL?

Can you run the end levels of crysis at that level though?....

Think my PSU could support and 8800GTX, they are fairly cheap on ebay...

you use open GL in your games. the only advantage i see with buying 2.1 over 2.0 is that you will feel more secure. nothing really uses opengl 2.1 yet.
