Yeah i saw it, the HD 4830 performs closely with the 9800gt but thats only when the 9800gt is at 700mhz core. When the HD 4830 hits 700mhz core, which is easily done it beats the 9800gt by a good 10%

Source. Look down, you'll see the performance of a small bump in the hd 4830's core. And hd 4830 is only $10 more or its the same price depending on how you look at it. And when this shell shocker is over today, the hd 4830 still will be the best bang for buck card (until the hd 4770 is restocked that is)

I am so tempted to buy two of these. Would my current processor (in sig) be able to handle one 9800? or would there be some bottleneck

the word is bottleneck

it would probably be able to handle one... not 2 in sli though
