Default 9600 Gt Sli

My friend has one of these cards. It's the 1GB version. He gave me $80 to buy him another card. I already told him another 1GB would be expensive and wouldn't benefit him in any way. He plays at 1680x1050. What are my options in which I can SLI and spend less than, equal to, or around $80?

I'm not sure what your asking. If he wants to add another card to his 9600GT, it has to be a 9600GT. The cheapest ones I found on Newegg were 110 for the 1GB versions.

He doesn't need the 1GB version, though. It won't benefit him at all. This card scales very well from what I've seen and heard. I just need the absolute cheapest 512 version. Would a 9600 GSO SLI with this 9600 GT?

After a quick search through Newegg, Ebay, Microcenter, and Froogle, that seems like it. I found a open box one that was $70, but it's a deactivated item.

You'll need another 9600GT to go with his current card to be able to run SLI. It doesn't need to have 1GB of memory as the other one.

The cheapest I've found is this: ZOTAC ZT-96TES4P-FDR GeForce 9600 GT - $84.99

TigerDirect: Sparkle GeForce 9600 GT - $74.99
