Imagine the HEAT generated by having 3 huge video cards stuck in a relatively small mid tower case. It would be crazy.

liquid cooling

/thread

but seriously, i owuld go tri/quad SLI before tri/quad crossfire, because i might be getting "only 10 fps" but thats 10 more then a single version of a 8800, which is a bit higher then ATI's offerings at the moment, which are kinda weak.

Or, instead of blowing ~$2,000 on 4 8800GTXs, you could get the same performance for $600 when the 9800GTX comes out.

The only reason the 2900XT's beat 8800's is because a single 8800 owns the 2900XT, putting them in crossfire almost makes up for this difference

doubt they will be 600$ when they come out, the 8800GTX's were more.

I hope I can get a single 8800GTS soon, lol. Theres a point when on a screen, the graphics dont matter a huge amount anymore. The entire design will have to be rethought sometime.

I heard they're going to try to release them at $600. It'll be more than that, but no more than $700 I bet.
