Default 8600GT vs 2600PRO

My 2600PRO has been letting me down lately and I might be getting an 8600GT for nearly nothing or just a little bit.

SO, compare my current video card (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814103039) with this XFX 8600GT 512MB GDDR2 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16814150247). Which is better?

I heard that even an 8500GT is better than my 2600PRO, so if that is true, then the 8600GT has to be quite a bit better.

Have a look here: Tom's Hardware - VGA Chart - 8600GT/2600 Pro/8500GT

OK thanks guys I guess the 8600GT is considerably better in a number of ways.

I can only assume that site is as accurate as the links they provide for the reviews of the cards. I only see comparisons based on specs and none on performance between the selected video cards.

I guess you could just use it to get a rough estimate according to the specs listed...
