Very possible and also maybe a bit of dust got between the contacts then. It's a good idea to have a can of air handy to blow away debris.

You think so? Could have been. My mobo is OLD. It's been chugging along for 7 years. I'm really curious to see how long it will be before my 920 starts bottelenecking whatever gpu I have (I upgrade every 2 generations to the second best Nvidia offering).

It's what I do too, I buy last year's technology (so to speak) and save money while not really behind in performance.
