What is so special about 64 bit processor/ 64 OS is there much difference and most of my drivers don't work with Win XP Pro x64 edition.....why don't manufactures develop drivers for this OS like linksys or nvidia?

The whole idea of the 64BIT cpu was to be twice as fast with the new windows 64bit but i have not heard or seen much evidence of this happening yet. Even these new well, relativley new dual core cpu's i cant see the difference myself they are not what they are cracked upto be i had the same cpu as you and personally i think it was better than the dual core i have now.

And dont forget, you need 64bit software aswell to take full advantage of the processor, and there is very little at the moment.

i heard that there was going to be more 64 bit compatible software and such when vista was released but as far as i can see it.....nothing is going to come out for a while....i think its pretty pointless to have 64 bit out right now...nothing rele is out there
