$500ish build help...

Hey, my friend wanted to me to price out a new computer for him, but I don't have time to look hard myself until probably later this weekend. So I was wondering if I could get some suggestions from you guys first. He asked for me to keep the build around $500. It can go slightly over if it has to. He doesn't need a new monitor, keyboard, mouse, or OS. As for what he is going to be using it for, he doesn't expect to be able to play the latest games on it but would still like to play some games. It is for a college student so there will be a lot of word processing, surfing, etc.. done on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

mother bored supports next intel quad cores
lots of ram
7600 geforce can play any game right now on the market
2g of ram = awesome for vista

That looks like a fine budget build esa but maybe you should suggest a slightly larger hard drive since he is a college student. You know he's going to have lots of document files and most likely a pile of music.

any way the mother bored can support all nextgen and current cpus gpus and up to 8g of ram
so upgrading isnt that big of a deal

get an XFX 7600GT. theyre pretty cheap and very powerful (DX9)
itll run all ur current games perfectly

later on, upgrade to something better - if u want
