First of all, I'm new here, so I apologize in advance if I'm breaking any forum norms, I know how annoying that can be.
I'm trying to build a machine with a budget of $500. I will mostly be using it for lightweight activities (MS-VS mostly) and light gaming. Obviously I only need the box, no peripherals/monitors/etc. I'd like it to be able to power at least 2 monitors.
This is my first actual build (though I am familiar with computer components), so I'm not sure where to start? Should I pick a CPU and then build the rest of the box around that? If so, can someone please recommend me a starting point (CPU) for this build, or tell me it's not possible to build under this budget? If not, could you please point me in the right direction to start?
