Default 4G's of RAM on a laptop?!

SO i am going to buy a laptop. and it says that it can go up to 4G of RAM. It only has 1G. I understand that i can put 1G X 1G and get 2G but how the hell do you get 4G? in a laptop....i have never seen sticks of 2G's before...

can somebody clear this up for me plz

There's 2GB Sticks on the market. You can get 4GB, but you throw in the cash.

you dont need 4gb in a laptop atm anyway. 2gb max id say. in reality 1gb would suffice

i dunno i was just wondering....cuz of stupid Vista...i dotn want it cuz of everybody talkign about the MEMORY HOG and bug problems.

im only running one gig on xp and i do everything pretty fast so i think even at one gig for just school stuff is just fine
