yes, it is. If you want the 4200+, might as well get the 3800+. No use paying extra for those extra unlocked multipliers.

From my understanding, the L2 catch is the main difference between the two?

And I do know that the L2 catch isnt used in Xp. And I can digg up the proof if needed. Although, FYI it was posted by Seti

Anyways, I suggest the 3800+ with ownage

Well if you have apps that need the buffer that the extra L2 Cache provides, like photoshop etc, then it's handy, but if you mainly game, you don't really need it. Games generally don't rely on the processor's L2 Cache.
