Default 4 pin ATX plug on 939 board?

Why is there a 4 pin 12v ATX connection on my new ASUS 939 board? I thought this was for a P4 (P standing for piece of crap) Does it just need more power?

AMD X2 4200+, 2 GB Corsair RAM, ASUS A8N5X, 6600GT, 120GB Seagate SATA, Thermaltake 430w PSU and lots of fans!! WOOT!!!

Dedicated power to the CPU.
