currently the best result in 3dmark05 that has been sent to futuremark is 17560. Well that is the highest one that has been approved.
That was done with:

"FX-57 @ 3917MHz // Mousepot Cooled // 2x512 Corsair XMS3200LL BH-5 // DFI NF4 SLI-D // Gigabyte 2x7800GTX 676/1584MHz // DICE // Silverstone 650W+OCZ600W //"

A good Optical drive
Actually the FX series does a lot better then the dualcore in these tests, and your harddrive has almost no effect on your score. Also you dont need more then 2gbs of memory. The top score only has 1gig

Yes...the FX-52 does hat. Plus, having 1Gb is good. But, 2Gb is better, although you don't have much difference

How about this one?

Intel Pentium D 830 @3.8GHZ
1GB RAM PC2-5400
Dual Radeon X1800 512MB ATI
Nforce 4 intel Edition chipset

Well, in BF2, 2GB is a lot better than 1.

i get 8563 on a single GTX out of the box. again , also posted it in the 3d mark 05 scores.

I once had twin 6800 Standards that got 9310 but i blew them up doing that . lol . I rang 3d mark 05 once and was like wow, so i thought run it again to show you guys (last january) and it blew them both up . lol .

I'd be having:

Quad Fx-60
4GB Rambus DDR800
Quad 3Dlabs Wilcat 1GB series
dual 4TB SATAII 16MB/s
Mobo: Custom made:

4 chipsets:
Northbride, south bridge, east bridge, west bridge (North controlls CPU, south, the PCI and PCI-E, east, for the memory and west for the interface adapters. (Custom Chipset) Far better than the Nforce 4 SLI)
6 Rambus socket up to 12GB DDR800
Quad 1GHZ socket M2 and higer
Quad SLI PCI-E x16
3PCI
Phoenix quad BIOS
4 Ethernet jacks
Sound Blaster Audigy 4 Platinum bundle
Two 24-pins PSU plugs
8 IDE cables
10 SATA II jacks
2 4-pins connector
Integrated air conditioner...easy to add freezing liquid and no leaks!
12 USB 2.0
Dual-mobo...so I could have another one on top of it...SLI like.

Soo...it means:
2 mobos
4 BIOS
8 FX-60
8GB RAM DR800
8 3D Labs Wildcat 1GB
16TB of SATAII

That beast will have well over 1 million points lol
