To achieve ultimate scores in 3DMark06. I think you'll need a...

FX-60
2x 7800GTX 512 or 2x X1900XTX
2 Gigabytes of RAM
SATA 3.0 GB/s Hard Drives
DVD Drive @ 32x speeds or higher
Any motherboard supporting True 16x PCI-Express

Yea a FX-60 will give you a nice boost, even with my 3800 my cards are bottlenecked i think I could get around 500 more if i had a 4400+

You would need 2 1900XTX 1 150GB Raptor, and ASUS P5WD2-E Premium, Pressler, LN2, Mousepot for the cpu and video cards, 2GB of Micron D9 (aka corsair 5400UL or 8000UL), PCP&C 1KW PSU. That would be nice

Yeah, anything that costs over $3K to build, will you get a high score.

Come to think of it, hwo do you think an Opteron and Xeon would fair in the CPU test?

opteron would win, hands down. I know this guy that tested PCMark with an 8-way opteron setup. WR for cpu score.

That CPU would do well as well.

The PSU has no effect
The HD is minimal

3dmark mostly tests your RAM CPU and GPU

You need a strong psu though. If you have a crappy one, it wont hold and wont give enough power to the system causing performance loss. PSU is the most important part of a computer.

ahh, thats where you are wrong. If you are overclocking to the extreme with SLI/crossfire, then your psu will be stressed. A Powerstream 520 has a max wattage of 616 watts and thats when its fully stressed. I know people have needed more than that.

Try removing two sticks of RAM and ocing that FX. That should get you a higher score. Right now, you are really really stressing the memory controller. You might even be running 2T.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but OMG!

If you want to see how rubbish your PC is, run this program! I thought my PC was good untill I saw this

I got 2400, and my FPS's were below 14 on every test!!!
