34 Pin ide cable question

I just built a computer for a buddy and he got one of those all in one card reader/ floppy deals. The card reader works fine (plugs into usb) Now the problem is with the floppy cable the motherboard.

The motherboard only has one pata port. This obviously wont work being different pin layouts. I tried looking for a converter or a special cable but i have no luck or i am looking for the wrong thing. So what do i need to do to get this interal floppy drive to work with the computer???

floppy drives aren't being supported in new motherboards. Its now USB. I'm not sure if there is a converter or adapter.
I haven't used a floppy in 6 years maybe longer.
