Default 32bit vs 64bit

Idk the differences between 32 and 64 bit vista... i have a copy of 64bit layin around and was wonderin if its worth the effort. Better performance/optimizations ?

You can run 64 bit apps and it supports more memory.

64 bit apps can run faster by utilizing the whole 64 bits, rather than 32. 32 bit apps run like they normally would; 16 bit apps won't run at all unless you use a vm.

64 bit apps have the potential to run faster, as well as the OS, itself. 32 bit apps are still just 32 vit, so there's not really any gains there.

when downloading software u have the option for it to be a "64 bit app"? And 64 bit apps run faster and more effecient? Sry i relly have no idea on this.

Some software and games have a 64 bit version, but others only have a 32 bit version.

And if i have a 64bit os will i still be able to run 32 bit programs? ... and how many programs dont have 64bit versions... just older ones?

You can still run 32 bit, just not 16 bit. It depends on the program. A lot still don't have 64 bit versions. Ventrilo and a number of games do.
