Default 32bit to 64bit question

Is it possible for a mobo to be compatible with 32 bit and 64 bit CPU's? Or is it one or the other? I am just asking in case I wanted to upgrade to 64 bit. If not, do I need to get a new mobo?

thx

64-bit support is determined by your CPU. 64-bit CPU's have been around for a while, what mobo and CPU do you have now?

If you have a 64bit CPU, it's also 32bit.

Your motherboard can take Pentium 4/D and Celeron processors. They all support 64-bit. There may be a BIOS you can download for Core 2 support, but I don't know.
