Default 2nd PC build, I want to do it right!

So I'm building my second PC. I've been working on them since I was 10 but I feel like there's still more nuances I could be taught.

Everyone here seems very helpful and knowledgable so I was hoping you all could confirm if the parts I've chosen will work together and give me some tips on common mistakes made when putting together a PC. Particularly any tips on thermal compound application and connection of the CPU heatsink/fan would be greatly appreciated!

This is gonna be as close to a dream PC as I'll ever get, so here are those parts.

Case

Thermaltake VD1000SWA Silver Chassis : 0.8mm Aluminum Front panel : Aluminum ATX Mid Tower

Mobo

eVGA 123-K8-NF47-AX Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI X16 ATX AMD

Power Supply

Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-550 ATX12V 550W

CPU

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Manchester 2000MHz HT 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Dual Core Processor

Heatsink/Fan

Thermaltake VENUS 12 80mm Ball Cooling Fan/Heatsink

Hard Drive

Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s

Memory

CORSAIR XMS 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit

Video Cards (Yes the "s" in "Cards" is gonna stay!)

EVGA 7900GT SLI Signature pack- A pair of EVGA 7900GT Signature( 2 cards). The First and The Fastest 7900GT SLI package on market runs at 600+MHz core/ 1600+MHZ

Sound (Simple yet effective)

Creative Sound Blaster SB0570 Audigy SE 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface

Optical Drive

LG Black IDE 16X DVD±R DVD Burner With 5X DVD-RAM Write

Display

LG L1780Q Black-Silver 17" 8ms LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 500:1 0.264mm Pixel Pitch

OS

Microsoft Windows XP Professional With SP2

I think that does it. Thanks in an advance for any help you can provide. I just found this forum today and it's great!

Well as far as I can tell the mobo can't handle RAM that's any faster. Am I wrong?

Better yet, is there a clear benefit to choosing an nforce4 chipset mobo over other, newer mobos?

I looked all over newegg, and as far as I could see all the nforce4 chipset mobos have a memory standard of PC3200
